Who knows? What reason would someone have for trying to give people nightmares? It doesn't really do anything but torture us.

But it is wearing us down since we're not sleeping well. And what better way to see what makes us tick than to see what still bothers us?

Not being able to sleep would bother anyone. It's not like this is gonna force us to say what our nightmares are about. A lot of people don't dream about stuff that's real anyway.

The Organization can sample memories, at least here in this castle, whether we're willing or not. It's why I don't worry about talking about this.

Because some of us have moved on from our pasts or their inner demons. Others haven't.

If they can find out what are memories are, they could tell whether we're still afraid of something or not. Giving us nightmares doesn't make that any different.

Depends on whether they sample all or some of our memories, I guess. I'll leave memory and heart theories to Ansem the Wise.
