I just looked through the message boards. Obviously you did too if you found that entry. Dig a little deeper and you'll find what the meerkat up there unearthed. Information about experiments and kidnappings.

I'm curious. I haven't managed to get my hands on a Lumen or a Nobody specimen, but every time I tried to drill into one of the Heartless, it disappeared on me.

Heartless are made of darkness. You're only going to get darkness. If a Keyblade were used to beat 'em, they'd release the heart, too. Darkness and maybe a heart. That's all they are.
